Dan is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He works with adolescents, young adults and adults navigating anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Many of the individuals he supports are high-functioning professionals, students, caregivers, and those balancing demanding careers, financial pressures, and family responsibilities.

As an immigrant, Dan understands the layered expectations that can come with navigating multiple cultures, including family roles, achievement, and responsibility. Prior to his clinical training, he worked in high-pressure business environments, including managing teams, large-scale operations, and complex projects. This experience informs his work with professionals, business owners, and individuals facing leadership demands and performance expectations.

Dan received his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Golden Gate University and has clinical experience in both school-based and community mental health settings. He draws from evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

His approach is collaborative, practical, and culturally responsive. He helps clients understand patterns that contribute to stress and develop sustainable ways to navigate work, relationships, and responsibilities with greater clarity and steadiness.

Dan works with clients across a range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including immigrants and those navigating financial or systemic barriers to care.

SPECIALIZATIONS

Adolescents and Young Adults

Dan provides therapy for adolescents (ages 14+) and young adults who are navigating academic pressure, stress, anxiety, and the challenges of balancing school, family expectations, and social relationships. Drawing from his experience in both school-based settings and high-pressure environments, he supports students in building practical coping skills, improving emotional awareness, and developing healthier patterns around performance and self-expectations. His collaborative and culturally responsive approach is especially helpful for teens from diverse backgrounds, including those managing the added complexity of cultural expectations, identity, and planning for the future.

Stress, Burnout and High-Responsibility Roles

Dan works with individuals experiencing chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, and the strain of carrying ongoing responsibility. This often includes high-functioning professionals, business owners, students, caregivers, and those balancing demanding work environments with family obligations or leadership roles.

These pressures may show up as overthinking, emotional exhaustion, irritability, relationship strain, or a sense of constantly needing to “hold it together.” Many clients are used to being the reliable one for others, while having limited space to process their own needs.

Dan’s approach focuses on understanding the patterns that drive stress and developing practical, sustainable ways to respond differently. Drawing from ACT, CBT, and related evidence-based approaches, he helps clients build greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and more effective ways of navigating work, relationships, and responsibilities.

Cultural Identity, Family Dynamics and Life Transitions

As an immigrant, Dan understands how cultural expectations, family roles, and identity can shape emotional experiences. He works with clients navigating cross-cultural stress, intergenerational dynamics, and the pressure to meet both internal and external expectations.

This includes adult children of immigrants, individuals in the sandwich generation, and those balancing personal values with family or cultural obligations. Therapy provides a space to explore these experiences with greater clarity, while finding ways to move forward in a more sustainable and aligned way.
